This is a macro lens, it was not designed for astrophotography! While its optics are amazing, it lacks heavily LP areas or whenever a moon is out, due to a unfortunately quite reflective coating inside the lens tube. This may not matter for macro, but it certainly matters for astro. I wouldn't purchase this lens for astro, only for macro! Can be used for astro however.
