Cedes The observatory main instrument has a mirror diameter of 90 cm, making it one of the largest instruments in Europe open to the public. With it, magnifications of up to 1000x can be achieved. The instrument is computer controlled and thus fully automatically finds any visible object in the sky. Technical data: Optics Free aperture 900 mm Focal length 9000 mm, with reducer 5940 mm Focal ratio f/10 with reducer f/6.6 Nasmyth focus: The beam cone is led out of the telescope laterally in front of the main mirror with the help of a plane mirror. This arrangement is called Nasmyth Cassegrain, or better Cassegrain with Nasmyth focus. Mount Azimuthal fork mount Viewing height constant 1.45 m Friction drive in both axes Grid tube with closed tube lower part Computer optimized apertures (apertures against direct stray light) Image field derotator servo-controlled Motofocus via secondary mirror focusing   Temperature-dependent focus compensation using temperature sensor on grating tube to measure length change, Positioning with < 30" RMS for zenith distance >5° (with Heidenhain encoder) Tracking better than 1.5" RMS in 5 minutes (with Heidenhain encoder) Positioner speed with autoslew < 27 seconds. Drive and electronics: 2 servo motors in azimuth and altitude with encoder. 1 servo motor for focus; encoder 1 servo motor for derotator; encoder Heidenhain encoder resolution 0.01 arc seconds for real-time correction of all Gear errors directly to telescope axis  Control: The telescope control system (TCS) from MagnetDrives AG consists of compact, modular electronic units that communicate with each other via an industrial communicate with each other.  The controller is controlled from a tablet or PC via an ASCOM interface. The controller in turn controls the four servos for the two main drives, the derotator, the focus and the mirror cover flaps. flaps of the mirror cover. The model based position correction of the motors makes the mounts insensitive to disturbances, imbalances and changing loads. The integrated pointing model compensates for various inaccuracies in telescope telescope construction. The integrated ST4 interface can be used for normal pulse guiding and for connecting a handbox. Software limit for lower declination position Limit switch for upper and lower declination position and cable rotation when more than 360° in both directions. Monitoring of the parking position when opening and closing the roof.
