In the next few days, we’ll send out the July 2026 issue of the AstroBin Bimonthly Newsletter.
At the end of the newsletter there will be a short poll, and this forum post is connected to that. We’d like to hear which parts of the newsletter are actually useful to you, which ones you enjoy reading, and what you’d like to see more often in future issues.

This issue is centered on learning from the community: how people choose targets, solve problems, process their data, and use AstroBin to study other images before planning their own.
Here’s a quick look at what’s inside:
A Creator Spotlight with Wolfgang Promper and David Cruz, focused on their habits, setups, processing choices, mistakes they try to avoid, and the advice they would give to other imagers.
A selection of images worth studying, including examples where framing, background control, subject choice, and detail preservation make the image useful to learn from.
A few first uploads we liked, because sharing early work is an important part of the community too.
A section on using AstroBin search more deliberately: finding the same target, comparing equipment, checking acquisition details, and looking for images made with gear similar to yours.
A few forum discussions worth joining, including practical tips from the community and conversations around processing choices, troubleshooting, and astrophotography ethics.
A gear-in-context section, using two different M42 images to show how focal length and setup choices change what you can show in the final image.
