This post goes with the Webb M16 image I posted elsewhere. This is a description of how I downloaded the files.

Download procedure for James Webb files
MAST Archive:
1. select advanced search near the top
2. under object name type in name of object (e.g., M16)
3. under mission type JWST
4. under instrument type NIRCAM.IMAGE
Make sure each field shows something in the X blank; some have boxes to check. Also, at the top check the applied filters to make sure everything is OK. At the very top left, it should show search... click if not showing a search is underway ("wheel" turning).
When search is complete it will show the number of Records Found:
click on search (upper left corned)... files will show.
click adjacent to each file and add to the basket, when added, x out and go to next file. Number of files will increase as you do this.
Check the box next to your basket (to left)... then complete the email address request under Batch Retrieval. The system will when send you two emails. The first one that the system is processing the request and a second when it is ready.
Bring up Filezilla which handles the transfer of files
host: archive.stsci.edu
username anonymous
password: email address your gave previously
port: leave blank
click quickconnect...if everything is OK, it will show a connection. If not make sure the above are correct.
On the right panel, click on Stage and pick correct anonymous number (in email)
and a list of files will then show below.
In the left panel (shows your files) pick the download directory (highlight)
Then select and drag the files you want to download from the right panel into the download file folder. The download should start. Note successful transfers.
