Hi everyone,
I just received a new PrimaLuceLab Sesto Senso 3 LS and, unfortunately, it's unusable out of the box. Before going through a replacement, I'd like to know if anyone has a unit working properly. I'm asking to understand whether this is just a firmware issue that could be solved soon, or a defective unit (or maybe all the units are like mine).
Setup
Windows 11 64-bit
PLAY (freshly updated), firmware 1.0.9, latest driver from the PrimaLuceLab website
Lens: Tried with and without, no change.
Same behavior in PLAY and NINA
Same behavior via WiFi with the Virtual HandPad, with no PC and USB unplugged, so it doesn't seem to be a driver or Windows issue
Problems
Calibration: it should take about a minute, but here it reports "successful" instantly, so it doesn't seem to actually run.
Erratic movement: I command +100 steps and it runs backwards indefinitely, and vice versa. Sometimes the step counter changes but the motor doesn't move.
Stop doesn't stop: when it runs away, pressing stop only makes it slow down. I have to press it several times before it really stops.
Unresponsive commands: I often have to send a command 3-4 times before it does anything.
Factory reset only clears position and calibration, not firmware, so I cannot downgrade the firmware.
Questions
Is your 3 LS working correctly? If so, which firmware version, PLAY version and driver are you using?
How long does calibration take?
Has anyone seen similar behavior, and did it turn out to be a defective unit, a firmware bug fixed by an update, or a settings issue?
I've contacted support already, but real-world feedback would be very helpful. Thanks!
