LDN 1355 (The Helping Hand) is a dark nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia. Its unique shape resembles an outstretched hand, hence its name. The nebula is composed of dense dust and gas, which blocks the light of stars behind it, making it appear as a dark outline in visible light. LDN 1355, together with the neighboring LDN 1357 and LDN 1358, form a complex dark nebula structure and is an important region of star formation.
