Description
The Fish Head Nebula (IC 1795) is part of a vast gas and dust star-forming system located on the Cassiopeia arm. This nebula is about 6,000 light-years away from Earth, visually neighboring the Heart Nebula (IC 1805). The Fish Head Nebula is home to many young stars, which emit copious amounts of ultraviolet radiation, energizing the surrounding gas to glow similarly to the colorful hues of neon lights. This photo was captured using SII, Ha, and OIII narrowband filters and is processed in the Hubble palette style.
