I knew this was a challenge under the skies I am imaging in southern California and I was ready to pull hair from my skull... besides being the worst critic of my own processing work...
My first attempt on the data was mid November, last year just after finishing acquisition. And since then, I attacked the data about every 2 weeks. Good I increased my NAS from 16TB to 48TB because now, I have some 400GB just in PI projects for this target. And it was not even Navi giving me nightmares although that glare had to be tamed. It was combining the Ha data (continuum subtracted) to the broadband image without introducing strange colors, especially around Navi. I searched up and down Astrobin for good widefield images of the Ghost to have some comparables to my image. You would thing there are lots to chose from...? Finally I found one taken with a Takahashi at a wide enough FOV to lift my confidence. I might have pushed the Ha data a little far but I am done with this target...!
