Description
NGC 1333 is a reflection nebula located in the Perseus molecular cloud, roughly 1,000 light-years away. From this mid range field of view, it appears as a beckoning patch of brightness against a turbulent region dominated by dusty clouds ....from the faintly illuminated blue light scattered by young stars. Embedded within the nebula are clusters of newborn stars, often obscured by the dense surrounding interstellar dust.
The area is chaotic, with streaks of light and dark lanes created by active star formation processes. Jets of material, outflows, and Herbig-Haro objects — regions where young stars expel gas that collides with surrounding material that adds to beauty and visual complexity on this region.
