Description
The Dumbbell Nebula (M27) is a planetary nebula located about 1,360 light-years from Earth. Like many planetary nebulae, the Dumbbell Nebula contains knot-like structures. Its central region features a unique pattern composed of dark and bright, spiky knots and their associated dark tails.
The photo was taken using SII, Ha, and OIII narrowband filters, and the post-processing was done using Hubble narrowband palette.
