IC 443 — The Jellyfish in Faux RGB IC 443, better known as the Jellyfish Nebula, is the expanding wreckage of a massive star that ended as a supernova. It lies in Gemini, roughly 5,000 light-years away, near Eta Geminorum, and its tangled shape comes from the blast wave running into uneven gas and molecular clouds around it.
