M33 - Jewels in Triangulum

The Triangulum Galaxy rendered in LRGBHaOIII , with an alternate interpretation in HOO . The narrowband data helps isolate the numerous H II regions scattered along the spiral arms, small star-forming pockets that show up as bright jewels across the disk. From a distance M33 looks fairly calm, but a closer look reveals it is busy almost everywhere. The narrowband version ended up emphasising that…
