Description
NGC 1566, at a distance of around 59 million light years, is a barred spiral galaxy.
The diameter of this galaxy is about 170,000 light years - for comparison, our Milky Way has a diameter of 100,000 light years.
This galaxy is located in the constellation Swordfish in the southern sky and cannot be photographed from my location in Hintersee near Salzburg.
For this reason, I used raw data from Telescope Live.
The raw data was captured with a powerful ASA 1000 telescope.
