Caldwell 29, better known as NGC 5005 or Herschel 301 , is a bright spiral galaxy located in the constellation Canes Venatici. It lies at a distance of roughly 60–70 million light‑years and features a prominent central bulge, tightly wound inner spiral structure, and more fragmented outer arms rich in dust lanes.
