NGC 5033 (Herschel 302) is a bright spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici, located about 50–60 million light‑years away. It shows a luminous central bulge, well‑defined inner spiral structure, and more diffuse outer arms with prominent dust lanes. The galaxy hosts a Seyfert nucleus powered by an active supermassive black hole, and its slightly asymmetric disk suggests a past interaction. Discovered by…
