Description

vdB 132 is a reflection nebula in the constellation Cygnus, located near the bright star Sadr (Gamma Cygni), at the center of the Sadr Region, a rich and complex area of the Milky Way. This nebula reflects the light of nearby stars, giving it a faint, bluish hue.

vdB 132 is part of the van den Bergh (vdB) catalog of reflection nebulae. The Sadr Region (Gamma Cygni Nebula) is a vast region filled with emission nebulae, dark nebulae, and reflection nebulae. This region includes parts of the IC 1318 nebula complex, also known as the Butterfly Nebula.

The combination of reflection and emission nebulae, along with dark dust lanes, makes vdB 132 and the surrounding Sadr Region a fascinating area of color and light to study the interplay between starlight and interstellar matter.
