Description
Abell 85 (also cataloged CTB 1, or LBN576), is a large supernova remnant located at Cassiopeia, originally cataloged as a planetary nebula by George Abell. The object was also found to be a radio source, hence its CTB 1 designation. Abell 85 emits quite weakly in the [OIII] and H-Beta lines compared to the H-alpha emission lines, [SII] and [NII].
