Description
Another addition to the Messier catalog, and the last row is just left short by one, which will come soon 😊. An open cluster, since Messier must have really liked those (or better disliked, since they distracted him from the comet search 😊). M 103 is not a prominent open cluster as some others, still has some nice stars in it. With this attempt I could not really make the stars shine as in some others open cluster images, I wonder a little bit why this sometimes happens, probably a slight mistake at the beginning of the processing, that reveals itself in the final stages.
I chose this time as final image the wide field version, since NGC 663 on the right side needed to be in it as well. If this one would have more colorful stars, it would definitely be a nicer target as M 103. Another open cluster, NGC 659 is a bit smaller though. And a cluster in the middle at the bottom of the image, not annotated though. Cannot remember to see several fairly bright stars THAT close together, they almost overlap 😊.
Carpe Noctem!
