The arrow-shaped dark nebula in this image is Barnard 312. It is superimposed upon and partially obscures two regions of emission nebulosity: RCW 163 on the right, and LBN 69 on the left. The arc of blue nebulosity in the upper left-hand portion of the image is part of supernova remnant SNR G 17.8-2.6.
