Description

Moon @ 27.6% December 8, 2021I shot several sets of images but this group I liked the most. Just 5 pictures stacked. I used my Canon T3i with the Sigma 150-600 mm lens, shot at 600 mm and cropped some. The settings on the Canon were ISO 400, 1/160 second, f/6.3. I used the iOptron All-View mount to steady the gear. Post processed with RegiStax 6 and Photoshop 23.

Nice moon-shot 👍 Even sharper with the 600mm, compared to my moon-shot with the new space-canon 😉 You only stacked 5 shots in Photoshop? No wavelet processing on this one? I only got part of my default after the wavelets.

Stacked in RegiStax and some wavelets then I used Canon Raw filter in PS.

Great detail Van! I have the old boat anchor sigma 50 to 600 without the stablization. How does the OS version do for you on terrestrial photography? Did you turn off stablization when you shot this?

Nicely done, Van! The contrast is just right and the details are super sharp. The Sigma lens looks to have performed very well at 600 mm and a fairly fast f/stop -- a formidable lens, indeed!
