Description
NGC 1499, also known as the California Nebula, is an emission nebula in the constellation Perseus.
This SHO palette, used in Hubble Space Telescope images, helps differentiate ionization zones and better analyze the nebula’s composition and dynamics. The California Nebula in SHO often appears with golden or orange tones in the brightest regions (where Ha and SII are strong) and deep blues in areas dominated by OIII emissions.
