Description
When the Moon is Out…..
My rule for a clear sky night is: “When the Moon is out, shoot the Moon.” The Moon was at 93.7% illuminated which blows out most of the night sky so I spent more time setting up, aligning the mount, and packing up the gear then I did shooting 25 images of the Moon. I shot 25 images 5 seconds apart which took less than 2 minutes. I stacked them in RegiStax 6 and finished the image off with Canon Digital Photo Professional. I used the SkyGuider Pro mount, ZWO 125 mm guide scope (for alignment), the modified Canon T7i, and the Sigma 150-600 mm lens. Settings were ISO 100, 1/250 second, f/6.3, at 600 mm. I used SharpCap for polar alignment. The weather does not look good for the next 10 days, at least for astrophotography but I got two good nights out under the stars.
