Comet 3I/ATLAS was discovered by the Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System (ATLAS) on the 1st July 2025. Most of our comets originate in the Oort Cloud which is on the edge of our Solar System. 3I/ATLAS is an interstellar comet from a different star system, which makes it so unusual.
