Description
This is my first serious attempt at photographing and processing dust. Choosing the LDN1285 area seemed like a good idea- right at the north celestial pole and always accessible, dust anywhere I aim. This dust, however, is really dim. As far as I know, this dust is the Integrated Flux Nebula, illuminated by the combined starlight of the galaxy rather than a particular star. Also, using the TS65Q f/6.4 APO under Bortle 4 sky was sub-optimal.
So it was challenging - I couldn't coax a decent image out of this data for nearly a year, but finally, it's ready.

So it was challenging - I couldn't coax a decent image out of this data for nearly a year, but finally, it's ready.
Workflow:
- Preprocessing via WBPP, L drizzled x 2, drop shrink 0,9, square kernel, resampled 50%.
- SpectrophotometricFLuxCalibration.
- MultiscaleGradientRemoval.
- BlurXterminator.
- StarXterminator.
- NoiseXterminator, with luminance mask on L.
- LRGBCombination.
- StatisticalStretch.
- Photoshop: lots of cosmetics, HighPass filter, Imagenomic Noiseware6 denoise, saturation, levels, etc.
- RGB stars stretched with GHS and inserted in PS.
