Thats lovely mate, the upper right hand region is one of my favorite parts of Carina, and the soft subtle tendrils of OIII throughout the bottom half of the image is beautifully processed to attain the most detail, while still looking like a thin veil of gas rather than a solid wall of colour!

Fantastic image! well done.

Thanks Alex
Appreciate your comment
It’s great to explore this big daddy of nebula’s in the outer areas , especially with some focal length and reach
I’m down at my Obs in a week so might do the same thing in a different area using my 10” as long as the weather is kind

I look like I'm heading into a couple of clear nights here, so I'll be firing up the rig and spending a couple of hours (hopefully 5+ on the statue of liberty and surrounding area.. I'm at 400mm f/l, so I get a lot of targets in one field!

My recent Carina image was only 2hrs 3min, but in a wide field image, that's plenty for such a bright target from my bortle 4 sky, but the statue of liberty and the surrounding clusters whispy bits of nebulosity are really quite dark by comparison, so I want to triple the exposure time and see what I can pull out of it... The other option is to do the running chicken... but I'm not sure... This will be the first run of my new mount, so I want to make a big deal out of it!
