This nebula looks like the rabbit from your profile pic

OK, I see it. (Thanks for taking a look)

That is a gorgeous image!!!!

Thanks, Vincent. There were so many ways to pose this image, from smooth and sleek to tangled and chaotic. I went  about 7/10s of the way toward the latter.

Very beautifully done Alex, I can agree with the "bad day for the dolphin" thing, lol...  but no mermaid!

CS and stay well,

Thanks much.

Communication about what we're look at  or imaging would best be through agreed upon tags...such as catalog IDs. Flighty names are simply not precise enough. Even catalog overlaps make things difficult. Maybe there should be a hierarchy such as if it has a Messier name, use that, otherwise if it has an NGC name, use that, otherwise...

Then we could all look-up info and images about a target so much easier and with reasonable certainty that we have found all the information there is on that object.

But ... realistically, that's never going to happen, sadly.

Keep safe

Interesting object. I wonder what is responsible for the oval-shaped area at the lower left. Probably some irregular ejecta from the explosion. Also, you got me on"periodolia". Had to go look that one up. Well done!

Thanks...
Perhaps some of the stuff is farther away. Just the other edge of the expanding sphere. It would be really great if we could take 3D images...please start working on that, would you, Kent ?
