The description you wrote is very thought provoking.  I don't think I am alone in that when I look at images of galaxies and try to comprehend the immensity of them, I also consider some of the infinite possibilities that exist.  In this case, perhaps the existence of a ULX makes the possibility of life existing in this galaxy much less?  Anyway, very interesting and well done.
